While everyone else was counting down to New Year, I was counting down the precious moments that I had left with my husband.
Happy New Year From Me to You
I can tell you with certainty that dropping him to the airport a couple of hours before midnight was not fun at all but you know what? Although I am sad because I miss his company, it is hard to be anything but grateful to have him. We had the best time while he was here and made the most of the brief 12 days that we had together, living it to the fullest while enjoying the island we call home. We were even able to explore two of the other Hawaiian islands which was an added bonus.
This distance is hard and always has been but when I think of it, in a way we are so lucky because we are forever honeymooning. We truly see time as valuable and cherish it with all our hearts. We make the most of each moment, never taking anything for granted and these are simple treasures of life that I wish all couples could enjoy. This is the reason the blog has been a little slow over the last 12 days because my attention has been devoted elsewhere. Thank you for sticking with me over the break and I have some more posts coming your way soon!
2015 was the year I started The Katie Show Blog and what a year it was! With the support of you guys I was able to grow the blog and develop it into something that I am really proud of. It started as just something I wanted to do to help others experience the wonder of Hawaii and make the most of their duty stations and it became so much more cool than I could’ve imagined. I’ll be honest, it takes a lot of work to keep up the blog and there have been some late nights where I have been sitting in my apartment, staring at the computer typing away or editing photos wondering if this blog is even worthwhile or if it is even useful to anyone. I can say though that all the hard work has been more than worthwhile and I have been glad to have been able to meet and/or chat to all of you guys who have reached out to me.
In 2016 I am looking forward to more honeymoons with my love, more adventures with old and new friends and of course more of the great outdoors! Also looking forward to Wrestlmania and I am so excited to be living my dream of being able to attend it ringside this coming year! Yes, I know that sounds crazy and yes perhaps I spent too much money on the tickets, but it’s seriously been my dream for a long time so it’s super cool to a nerd like me! Whatever 2016 has in store for me, I am ready for it. Ready for the ups and downs that life brings and overall ready to welcome it all with open arms.
And if I had to make a resolution, it would be to read more. 5 years of full time University kind of ruined reading for me and I’d like to get back into it so that’s my goal for the year. What’s yours?
